Our Story
The SanJoy Foundation was created in memory of Sandy Myers Otte and in honor of Joyce Myers Gillett. Sandy, my Mom, passed away from breast cancer in 2001. My Aunt, Joyce, is currently battling metastatic pancreatic cancer. These two sisters, amazing wives, devoted mothers and fun-loving grandmothers, have had a huge influence on my life and passion for oncology! I have witnessed first-hand the challenges that cancer patients and their families can go through as they navigate this terrible disease. As a former practice manager of a hematology/oncology clinic in Northern Colorado, I worked closely with our adult cancer patients and their families to assist with financial needs relating to cost of treatment as well as finding community resources to help them.
There are so many needs that come up during the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Our foundation will strive to help adult cancer patients and their families in Northern Colorado through financial assistance as well as connecting them with local supportive community resources. We will partner with community businesses and private donors to create a variety of financial assistance opportunities. Through fostering relationships with these partners, the SanJoy Foundation will create a network of resources to assist adult cancer patients and their families with needs such as counseling, insurance, outdoor activities, nutrition, childcare, exercise, auto repair, and much more!
Through generous sponsors and those wanting to volunteer their time, we will together make a positive impact on the lives of these adult cancer patients and their families in Northern Colorado!
Thank you for your support!
